Message
Dear Junior School Families,
It was so lovely to have so many families and students out last week in support of our community partnerships, on Celebration Day! For those who stayed for Friday Night Lights, I am sure you can agree it was an EPIC event. To see so many people cheering on young women athletes was truly inspirational!
This week, we honoured Truth and Reconciliation Week at Havergal. We were grateful to engage in meaningful activities, including reflecting on our calls to action as a community, understanding the meaning of Orange Shirt Day, and learning alongside Indigenous scholar Taylor Galvin. As a school, our goal is to build bridges of understanding and reconciliation, ensuring that the lessons of the past lead to a more inclusive and respectful future for all, not just for one week, but throughout the entire year.
As we look ahead to next week, we are excited for our annual Harvest Festival. This formal service of Thanksgiving is an opportunity for us to come together as a community and support our community partners – The North York Harvest Food Bank. We hope to see you there.
Warmly,
Kate White
