Dear Junior School Families,
It was so much fun to have all of our students, faculty and staff dress up for Halloween yesterday! We know how much everyone looks forward to this special day, and we were thrilled to participate in a variety of activities to celebrate together. A special note of thanks to the Upper School students who came to support our students in our annual door-decorating contest! The competition was close once again. Congratulations to our students in 3B and 5C who were the lucky winners!. Finally, a shout-out to our Boarding Students and the Boarding Team for hosting our Junior and Senior Kindergarten students for trick-or-treating in their home! We love any opportunity to build relationships between students across the bridge.
Thank you as well for your participation in our first set of Parent-Teacher Conferences over the last two days! These important conversations provide an opportunity to discuss your child’s progress, identify the areas in which she is thriving, and develop targeted plans for continued growth. Moreover, they allow us to further strengthen the relationship between home and school.
We sincerely value your engagement and want to reiterate that should you ever have questions or concerns, we invite you to contact us. Be assured that we will do the same.

How to Register:
- Families can register for Winter Co-curriculars on the Parent Portal.
- Opens: Wednesday, November 4th at 10 am

Clubs
- All winter clubs begin the week of January 11, 2027
- Reminder about Teaching Kitchen:
- Teaching Kitchen is one of our most popular after-school clubs, and we have heard your frustration at how difficult it can be to get a spot! As such, we have a lottery system to make the sign-up process more equitable.
- ALL families, with the exception of those whose children have already participated in Teaching Kitchen this year, will be allowed to register for this club, and will then be put on a wait list. Once registration closes, we will then enter the names of all students into a pool, and pull names randomly. We will then update families accordingly.
Poppies for Remembrance Day
The Junior School at Havergal will be holding our Service of Remembrance on November 11, 2026 from 2:30-3:00pm. There will be poppies (stickers for the younger grades) available at school for the students and teachers. We would ask that you send with your student $2 on the day and all the money collected will be forwarded to our local Legion (#66) for their funds. Thank you very much.
We will be having a slideshow during the service – if you would like to add a photo of a family member or loved one that served in the Forces, please email the photo to jruch@havergal.on.ca by Nov 6th.
27-28 Financial Support Application Deadlines (Gr. 7 – 12)
Havergal is now accepting applications for tuition financial support via Apple Financial Services for Students entering Grades 7-12 in the 2027-2028 school year.
Renewal of Financial Support is not automatic. Families must reapply and qualify annually.
Apple’s review and analysis of an application may take 2 to 3 weeks once all required financial documents have been submitted. Begin your Apple application as early as possible. The deadline for fully completed applications, as determined by Apple Financial Services, is December 23, 2026.
