Message
The countdown is on! Next week, we have the great joy of welcoming our students (your daughters!) back to Havergal and beginning a new school year together. There is nothing quite like the energy of Opening Week, and we are so looking forward to seeing our hallways, classrooms, fields and gathering spaces filled with students once again.
This first edition of The Weekly is an important one. Below you’ll find key information to help your family prepare for a smooth start, including Opening Week schedules and arrival times, updated drop-off and pick-up procedures, Arts and Athletics registration and other important dates and opportunities.
Please take a few minutes to read through this edition carefully with your daughter. There are a number of details and deadlines that will be helpful to know before next week.
To our returning families, welcome back. And to those joining the Havergal Upper School for the first time, a very warm welcome to our community. We can’t wait to begin the 2026–27 school year together!
Warmly,
Krista
Upper School (7–12)
Updated US Drop-Off & Pick-Up Procedures
To support student safety and traffic flow, we have updated our Upper School drop-off and pick-up procedures. We appreciate all families following these expectations during our busiest arrival and dismissal times.
Morning Drop-Off
- Enter via the one-way Avenue Road driveway and use the right curb lane only for drop-off, pulling forward as far as possible.
- The middle lane is drive-through only; the left lane is a no-stopping zone.
- Students should exit from the curbside with their belongings ready. Drivers should remain in their vehicles and depart promptly.
Afternoon Pick-Up
- Both the right and left lanes may be used for pick-up; the middle lane remains drive-through only.
- Students must enter vehicles from the curbside only and use the designated crosswalk when crossing the driveway.
- Drivers should remain in their vehicles. If your student is not ready and vehicles are waiting, Security will direct you to exit the driveway.
Please note: Parking or leaving vehicles unattended in the driveway is not permitted during drop-off or pick-up. The South Parking Lot is closed to traffic during afternoon pick-up from 2:50–3:50 p.m. daily, except Wednesdays, when it is closed from 2:30–3:15 p.m.
Maps of parking flow are here.
Please follow the directions of Havergal Security at all times. Thank you for your partnership in keeping arrival and dismissal safe and efficient.
